'Junior Walker' is a compact, sterile seedling selection of the popular 'Walker's Low' catmint, chosen specifically because it does not self-seed around the garden. It grows readily in average, well-drained garden soil and, once established, is quite drought tolerant, performing best with a full day of sun; part shade will slow flowering and can cause floppy stems.

Aromatic, finely textured gray-green foliage forms a low, spreading mound topped with abundant spikes of soft lavender-blue flowers from late spring through fall, especially if lightly sheared after the first flush to encourage rebloom.

A long-blooming, reliable nectar source for bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds, while remaining unappealing to deer and rabbits thanks to its aromatic foliage.

Ideal for the front of sunny borders, edging along pathways, mass plantings as a flowering groundcover, or containers, given its compact, non-spreading-by-seed habit. Pairs nicely underplanted with roses or alongside yarrow and other sun-loving perennials.
